Elan Financial Services Donates $10,000 on behalf of TVFCU

September 07, 2018

$10,000 Donation to Partnership for Families, Children and Adults and (STARS) Students Taking A Right Stand

Elan Financial Services is celebrating its 50th anniversary and they are commemorating this event by making a donation of $10,000 on behalf of TVFCU to a local nonprofit(s).  TVFCU was one of 10 financial institutions nationswide that was honored in this way. They have chosen to divide the $10,000 between Partnership for Families, Children and Adults and (STARS) Students Taking A Right Stand.  Each organization will receive $5,000.  Lisa Elrod, VP of Operations, and Donna Myers, VP of Lending, both serve on the STARS board and Todd Fortner, President/CEO, serves on the board of directors for Partnership for Families, Children and Adults.

The Partnership for Families, Children and Adults has been serving the Tennessee Valley community for 140 years through professional counseling, crisis intervention and prevention services.  In the most recent year 45,000 members of the community received help and services they wouldn’t have otherwise through the programs provided by the Partnership.  This $5,000 will help build a stronger, smarter, safer community.

STARS (Students Taking A Right Stand) supports schools with professional development , (Restorative Practices, Olweus Bullying Prevention, ACE’s and RT12 Behavior Support), student training (MOVE2STAND, peer mediation, conflict resolution, life skills, and anti-bullying), and an alternative to full suspension for tobacco and/or alcohol-related offenses.  Through STARS efforts, there has been a steady decline of anti-social behaviors in Hamilton County.

Both of these organizations are very grateful to Elan for this incredible contribution on behalf of Tennessee Valley FCU.
