29th Annual Golf Classic Raises $75,000 to Support Education

On September 30, 2025, 167 golfers gathered at the beautiful Council Fire Golf Club to enjoy a day of golf while supporting local students and educators. For nearly three decades, the annual tournament hosted by Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU) has raised funds to support education across the Tennessee Valley.
This year, the credit union raised over $70,000 to support organizations including STARS (Students Taking a Right Stand) and the Junior Achievement chapters in Chattanooga, Ocoee Region, and Northwest Georgia.
“By participating in our tournament, golfers are making an impact on our local students,” said Tammy Zumbrun, Director of Marketing and Community Engagement at TVFCU. “The beneficiary organizations are helping shape positive school climates and preparing students for their futures through career readiness, business ownership, financial literacy, and more.”
For the first time, a portion of proceeds also supported the Karen Glenn Scholarship Fund, established in memory of the late STARS director. Karen dedicated her career to strengthening school communities by addressing issues such as bullying and substance abuse. TVFCU is honored to continue her legacy through this donation.
Aside from contributing to a worthy cause, golfers were able to enjoy morning and afternoon tournaments with sunny weather, delicious food, exciting contests and prizes, and many got to leave with trophies created by students at Red Bank High School.
