Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU), the largest credit union in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia, announced that it is recognized as one of America’s Best Regional Banks & Credit Unions 2026 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group. Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group recognized companies that are committed to powering local economies by supporting small businesses, financing community projects, and providing reliable access to everyday banking services.

“Being named one of Newsweek’s America’s Best Regional Banks & Credit Unions for the third time—during TVFCU’s 90th year—is a meaningful honor,” said Todd Fortner, President and CEO of Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union. “This recognition reflects our team’s continued commitment to providing trusted financial solutions and supporting the long-term strength of the communities we serve.”

TVFCU was established in 1936, and has grown over the past 90 years into a thriving financial institution providing a full range of services to individuals and businesses across 17 counties. The credit union will be celebrating this milestone year with promotions and celebrations throughout 2026. Updates will be posted regularly at tvfcu.com.

“More than financial service providers, credit unions are community partners, showing up in neighborhoods, participating in local initiatives and helping strengthen the connections that bind their members together,” says Jennifer H. Cunningham, Editor-in-Chief at Newsweek. “We hope this list helps you find the most trusted financial institutions in your area—whether you’re planning your next business venture or taking your next step toward financial security.”
