TVFCU announced the promotion of Nick Townsend from assistant vice president of information technology to vice president of business transformation, a newly created role effective July 1, 2026.

Townsend will lead initiatives to modernize operations, with a particular emphasis on leveraging emerging technologies to enhance the member experience through greater efficiency and innovation.

As TVFCU’s first dedicated transformation leader, Townsend will champion responsible organizational growth and change, a necessity in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape. He will report directly to Todd Fortner, the credit union’s president and CEO.

“Since joining TVFCU in 2016, Nick has been instrumental in building a best-in-class IT network and telecommunications infrastructure while ensuring strong cybersecurity defenses,” said Fortner. “He is a lifelong learner who consistently invests in his professional development beyond his responsibilities at the credit union.”

During his tenure, Townsend has helped lead several transformative technology initiatives, including the deployment of state-of-the-art interactive teller machines (ITMs), the launch of the YOUR$ digital banking app and expanded member access through secure video banking.

Townsend holds a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Liberty University and an MBA from Lee University. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and maintains more than 10 active technology-related certifications.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Townsend is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland, is actively involved with the Cleveland-Bradley Chamber of Commerce and serves as a Youth Leadership volunteer. He advocates for TVFCU’s internal charitable efforts, including the annual Angel Tree drive for the local Salvation Army.

“TVFCU was founded on the principle of ‘people helping people,’ and that commitment continues to guide every decision we make,” said Townsend. “As technology evolves, we have an incredible opportunity to enhance the member experience and empower our employees with better tools and processes. I’m honored to step into this role and help lead the transformation efforts that will position TVFCU for continued growth while keeping our members at the center of everything we do.”
