Member success, shared

We eliminated NSF fees because it was the right thing to do.

NSF fees can hit at the exact moment someone can least afford another expense. So, in 2025, TVFCU stopped charging them—saving members $6 million that year.

We were able to make that change because of the consistent support of our members and communities. Their trust has helped TVFCU remain financially successful for our member-owners while finding a better way forward without NSF fees.

That’s the credit union difference: when we do well together, we can do more for the people we serve.

Straight answers

Overdraft questions, answered

What is an NSF fee?

NSF stands for non-sufficient funds. Some financial institutions charge an NSF fee when they return a transaction because there isn’t enough money in the account. TVFCU checking accounts have $0 NSF fees.

What is overdraft protection?

Overdraft protection lets you link an eligible TVFCU savings account to checking. Available money can transfer automatically from the linked account, and TVFCU does not charge a fee for these transfers.

What is Courtesy Pay?

Courtesy Pay is an optional service that may allow an eligible transaction to be paid when there isn’t enough money in your account. TVFCU charges a $9 Courtesy Pay fee when the service is used.

Is Courtesy Pay the same as overdraft protection?

No. Overdraft protection uses available money from a linked TVFCU account. Courtesy Pay may allow TVFCU to pay an eligible transaction when sufficient funds are not available, creating a negative balance and a $9 fee.

Which Perks account is right for me?

Choose Perks Checking for everyday discounts and protection at the lowest Perks monthly price. Choose Perks Plus if you want dividends and can maintain a $1,500 daily balance to waive the fee. Choose Perks Platinum if you want TVFCU’s best checking rate and enhanced protection benefits.

Ready for checking that feels better?

Make the switch. Keep the peace of mind.

Choose the TVFCU Perks account that fits your life and leave high overdraft fees behind.

Courtesy Pay: Courtesy Pay is optional, subject to eligibility, and is not guaranteed. A $9 fee applies each time Courtesy Pay is used. Members are automatically opted in for Courtesy Pay on checks and ACH items and may opt in for eligible debit card transactions. Overdraft protection transfers require sufficient available funds in an eligible linked TVFCU account.
