What does it mean for housing to be “affordable”? At Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, we believe affordable housing means more than just a price point; it means access, opportunity, and stability. Across the regions we serve, there are impactful local initiatives supporting affordable housing. For example, the City of Chattanooga offers down payment assistance to help make homeownership more attainable for first-time buyers. In Northwest Georgia, programs are also available to support low-income families, including housing assistance and voucher programs.
