April is Financial Literacy Month

April 3, 2020

WEEK 1:

April is Financial Literacy Month and TVFCU wants to offer some helpful financial tips and some fun activities to do with your kids each week.

Check back each Friday in April, for a fun activity and helpful financial tip.

Financial Tip: Use online banking to keep up with your account on a daily basis.

Activity: Create creatures on paper with money coins, varying in shape and size. Help kids practice counting money while creating fun animals! Add legs, tails, horn; whatever they choose for their coin creature.

Tag TVFCU in a post on social media using the hashtag #FunFinancialFriday and we will share the animal creature creation on our social media.

WEEK 2:

Financial Tip: Make deposits, payments, cash withdrawals or transfer funds from 7-7 Monday through Saturday without ever leaving your car at our drive-thru Interactive Teller Machines. Just simply touch the screen and a live person will help you with your transaction.

Fun Activity for Kids: Get kids “eggs”cited about learning the value of coins. Using plastic eggs, write an amount on each egg and fill the eggs with that amount. Hide the eggs and have the kids find them. Have kids count out the coins in each egg. When all the eggs have been opened, mix up the coins and have them put the correct amount back in each egg, then let the egg hunt continue!
