Local Credit Unions Announce Their Support of Nationwide Credit Union Awareness
July 20, 2020
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (July 20, 2020) — Bowater Credit Union, EPB Employees Credit Union, Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union and Trust Federal Credit Union have joined The Tennessee Credit Union League and credit unions nationwide in the Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union® campaign. The credit union awareness effort aims to raise consumer consideration of credit unions, and ultimately connect more consumers with credit unions as their best financial partner.
“We are honored to work with our credit union peers to help educate the community about how we are different than banks,” said Todd Fortner, president and CEO of TVFCU. “The Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union® message is simple and encourages people see for themselves the credit union difference.”
Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union® is a groundbreaking, brand-level marketing effort led by Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and supported by credit unions across the nation.
“We’re empowering everyone to truly understand why credit unions are the best option in the financial services space and what it means to be a credit union member,” added Denley Hines, CEO of Bowater Credit Union.
The Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union® campaign launched in Southeast Tennessee in early July. Consumers can see the campaign through digital advertising and grassroots efforts.
“Now more than ever, it’s time for credit unions to show how they’re different from other financial institutions,” said Jim Nussle, CUNA president and CEO. “These credit unions in Southeast Tennessee are committed to ensuring all Americans understand that belonging to a credit union means more for their money.”
The campaign focuses on helping educate the community about the not-for-profit financial cooperatives.
“There is a credit union for everyone and we are proud to support a campaign to get the word out about the many benefits of joining,” said Brian Trotter, CEO of EPB Employees Credit Union. “Credit unions put members in the driver’s seat of their own financial future.”
