Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union Welcomes Shannon Amos as New Commercial Lender

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (June 6, 2022) — Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU), a $2.4 billion community credit union, announced today that Shannon Amos has joined the business and commercial lending team. As a commercial lender, Amos will help companies in TVFCU’s 13-county service area obtain funds to start or expand their business.
“Shannon is a great addition to our team,” said Todd Fortner, president and CEO of TVFCU. “We’re excited to expand our business and commercial services division to continually serve businesses of all sizes in our area.”
Amos will assist with loan operations in all facets of business including equipment, expenses, business auto, commercial real estate and other offerings like Idea Leap loans that help entrepreneurs with early-stage businesses.
Amos started his banking career in 2003 as a part-time teller for Dalton Whitfield Bank. He later worked in banking management with Wachovia and Bank of America before transitioning into commercial and business development at FirstBank.
“I find commercial lending highly motivating and rewarding because I love watching businesses grow and flourish,” said Amos. “I am honored to represent TVFCU, and I hope to have a lasting impact in my community.”
Originally from Chatsworth, Georgia, Amos earned a degree in business and management from Dalton State College. He serves on the board and as treasurer for the Dalton Civitan Club, he is a graduate of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Dalton-Whitfield program and he is a graduate and current co-chair of the chamber’s Emerging Leaders Institute.
Outside of work, Amos enjoys mountain biking, camping, staying active in his church and spending time with his wife and three children.
